Truck Test 2026: It’s going to be our best yet!
Preparations for Truck Test 2026 are progressing extremely well. The event, which takes place on 3 to 5 November, is rapidly taking shape as key partners, manufacturers and technical specialists confirm their participation. It promises to be the best Truck Test yet!
With strong industry support and a full field of trucks expected, this year’s test promises to deliver another comprehensive and valuable comparison of the latest commercial vehicles (CVs) on the market.
One of the most significant announcements is that Engen will sponsor the fuel for Truck Test 2026. With fuel prices continuing to rise, this support is particularly welcome. Conducting a large-scale comparative truck test requires significant fuel resources, and Engen’s contribution ensures that the event can proceed smoothly, while maintaining the rigorous testing standards for which Truck Test is known. We are extremely grateful for Engen’s involvement and its commitment to supporting the CV industry.
As in previous years, TruckScience will once again play a critical technical role by compiling the specifications and results for all participating vehicles. TruckScience’s expertise ensures that the testing process remains objective, transparent and data driven. Its analysis provides valuable insights into vehicle performance, efficiency and operational capabilities, helping both manufacturers and fleet operators understand how each truck performs under identical conditions.
Afrit is responsible for building the trailers that will be used during the test. Standardised trailers are essential for ensuring fairness and consistency across the entire field of trucks. Afrit’s experience in trailer manufacturing and its ability to deliver high-quality, precisely specified equipment make it an ideal partner for this aspect of the event. With Afrit’s trailers in place, each truck will be subjected to the same load and operating conditions, allowing for accurate and meaningful comparisons.
Bandag has joined Truck Test 2026 as the official tyre partner. Tyres play a critical role in vehicle efficiency, safety and durability, particularly in demanding road tests over long distances and varied terrain. With Bandag’s support, the event will benefit from high-quality tyres that ensure consistency and reliability throughout the testing process.
WearCheck will serve as the official oil analysis partner. Oil analysis provides valuable information about engine condition and mechanical wear, adding another layer of technical insight to the test programme. By monitoring lubricant performance and identifying potential issues, WearCheck helps ensure that the trucks operate at optimal levels during the test, while also providing additional data that may be of interest to manufacturers and fleet operators.
Another important partner is ZF, which joins Truck Test 2026 as the official aftermarket partner. ZF’s involvement highlights the importance of maintenance, service support and component reliability in modern trucking operations. With its extensive expertise in drivetrain and chassis technology, ZF brings valuable industry knowledge to the event.
But, of course, the stars of the show will be the actual trucks. We’re delighted to report that entries have already been received from Daewoo, DAF, FAW, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Powerstar and Volvo (listed alphabetically). The exact models entered are under wraps for now; we’ll share the details as and when we can (stay tuned for details).
With key partners confirmed, manufacturers entering their trucks and preparations advancing steadily, Truck Test 2026 is on track to cement its position as the leading test of its kind on the African continent and, indeed, a global benchmark in vehicle evaluation.
