Toyota stars at Nampo 2025

A firm favourite of South African farmers, Toyota once again made a strong impression at the 2025 Nampo Harvest Day in Bothaville, Free State.

As a long-standing partner of Grain SA, Toyota reaffirmed its commitment to the agricultural sector through an expansive and dynamic presence at one of the southern hemisphereโ€™s largest agricultural exhibitions.

This yearโ€™s event, themed โ€œGlobal Agriculture, Locallyโ€, focused on highlighting the vital role of South African farmers in an increasingly globalised agricultural landscape. Fittingly, Toyotaโ€™s exhibition celebrated innovation rooted in local relevance โ€“ a key reason why the brand remains a staple in farming communities across the country.

At the heart of the show was Toyota Avenue, where guests explored an impressive line-up of vehicles from Toyota, Lexus, and Hino. Farmers and enthusiasts alike were drawn to the bespoke vehicle display, which featured some of South Africaโ€™s best-loved models, including the robust Land Cruiser 70 Series, the luxurious Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport, and the Prado. The Hilux GR-S III โ€“ an evolution of South Africaโ€™s iconic โ€œbakkieโ€ โ€“ impressed Nampo visitors with its blend of power and versatility.

For motoring enthusiasts, the debut of the GR Yaris with its new eight-speed Sport Direct Shift Auto Transmission proved to be a crowd favourite. Visitors also had a chance to explore Lexusโ€™ sophisticated offering, including the LX 700h, and the newly introduced Lexus GX SE and Overtrail models โ€“ vehicles that combine luxury with rugged performance, appealing to farmers who demand both comfort and capability.

Hilux: the backbone of SA farms

Toyotaโ€™s popularity in farming circles was once again evident. The brand is deeply embedded in the agricultural community and is sought-after for its vehiclesโ€™ durability, reliability, and low maintenance needs. The Toyota Hilux, often called the backbone of the farm, is especially beloved for its ability to endure rough terrain and heavy loads โ€“ qualities that make it indispensable for daily farm life.

Farmers also value Toyotaโ€™s expansive service network, which ensures that even those in remote areas have access to support, parts, and maintenance. This accessibility, combined with decades of dependable performance, has earned Toyota not just respect, but also enduring loyalty among South Africaโ€™s rural population.

A standout feature at the exhibition was the Toyota Urban Trax, an off-road track experience that thrilled over 300 visitors daily. This yearโ€™s line-up included the Fortuner GR-S, the Hilux Double Cab 4×4 48V, and the highly anticipated Lexus GX. The off-road-focused Overtrail sub-brand of Lexus was also showcased, signalling the brandโ€™s commitment to innovation in rugged luxury mobility.

Special offers from Toyota affiliates

Supporting services such as Toyota Financial Services, Toyota Insurance, and Kinto offered interactive activations throughout the week, while the Toyota Merchandise Store proved popular with festivalgoers, offering Land Cruiser and GR-branded gear. Over at the Hino stand, visitors took advantage of special offers, including the Hino 700 complimentary service plan and the Nampo 300 816 drop side body special.

Toyotaโ€™s presence at Nampo 2025 was not just a showcase of vehicles; it was a celebration of partnership, community, and the vital role that mobility plays in agriculture. With its enduring commitment to innovation and local support, it is clear that Toyota will continue to stand firmly alongside South African farmers for many decades to come.
