UD Trucks out in full force at Nampo Harvest Day 2022
Nampo Harvest Festival was once again an overwhelming success for UD Trucks, presenting the right platform for networking and new business opportunities. UD Trucks exhibited a variety of vehicles from its current product range at the festival.
UD Trucks is celebrating 60 years of operation in South Africa in 2022. Over the years, the company has offered a wide range of products to cater to customers’ diverse needs, including those in the agricultural community.
Because of its appeal in this market, the Quester series generated the most interest at Nampo Harvest Festival 2022. The Quester has built a strong reputation down the years as a series, with some of the most reliable and durable trucks on the road. It has a very loyal following amongst some of the biggest operators in the industry. With Easy Safe Controlled Transmission (ESCOT) onboard, the Quester is an easier and more fuel-efficient drive, while it features a spacious cab for a more pleasant and comfortable working environment.
Another showstopper was the Croner range. Designed to excel in the medium-duty segment, the Croner features a robust chassis frame made from lightweight material, resulting in a low tare weight, which ultimately increases the customer’s payload. The fully automatic gearbox provides ease of driving and reduces driver fatigue.
Also on show was UD Trucks’ versatile light-duty Kuzer. When days are busy and margins are tight, taking productivity to the next level can set an operator apart from the rest. The Kuzer is perfect for customers in agriculture who are looking for a cattle body and drawbar trailer. It can even be used in a distribution environment with a drop side or flat deck.
Boasting a GVM of 8,9 tonnes, a 150 hp GH4E engine, and a six-speed synchromesh manual transmission, the Kuzer engine’s power and performance help optimise total cost of ownership by reducing fuel consumption. The Kuzer also features higher gradeability to help tackle rough and steep terrains.
Added peace of mind is provided by the high levels of customer and aftersales service offered by UD Trucks. Customers can benefit from preventive maintenance packages, a two-year parts warranty, and dedicated sales and service teams that will go the extra mile to understand customers’ business needs.
Quester and Croner buyers can now enjoy free UD Telematics for three years with the purchase of new vehicles (with the Kuzer, it is two years). This helps customers improve their profitability by maximising vehicle uptime and fuel efficiency, while reducing unplanned stops and operational costs. UD Telematics Services integrates a host of features designed to support customers and their businesses.
This combination of a strong product line-up, integrated smart logistics systems, and excellent customer service has resulted in extremely positive feedback from customers and the market.
“The UD Trucks management team and I are extremely excited about the future of the brand. With the recent launch of the Quester and Croner Euro 5 models ahead of local regulations, we are making great strides to bolster UD Trucks’ Better Life purpose – to be better for logistics, the planet, people, and business,” says Filip Van de Heede, managing director of UD Trucks Southern Africa. “In today’s world, sustainability is more important than ever. Modern and efficient logistics are vital to keep the world moving in these fast-evolving times, and our latest launch will ensure greater resilience for businesses while ensuring environmental impacts are minimised.”
