Suzuki celebrates strong April sales

Suzuki Auto South Africa has continued its upward trajectory in 2025, achieving another strong month of new vehicle sales while marking a significant milestone in its journey: more than 300,000 customers have now joined the Suzuki family.

According to the latest industry data released by naamsa, Suzuki sold 5,977 new vehicles in April 2025. This marks an increase of 693 units compared to March, and is only 422 vehicles short of its all-time record, set in January this year.

Of particular note, dealer sales accounted for 5,015 of the April total, surpassing the brandโ€™s previous dealer sales record by 481 units. A further 962 vehicles were delivered to fleet, rental, and government clients. This performance placed Suzuki Auto South Africa firmly in second position in the overall manufacturer rankings for the month.

The fourth-generation Swift hatchback led Suzukiโ€™s sales success, with 2,053 units sold โ€“ making it South Africaโ€™s best-selling passenger vehicle and second-best overall model for the month. Following closely were the Fronx crossover (1,186 units), the Ertiga multi-purpose vehicle (778), the Baleno (420), and the off-road-ready Jimny (319).

In addition to its strong passenger line-up, Suzukiโ€™s commercial vehicles continue to prove their worth for South African businesses. The company markets a practical and reliable range, always โ€œopen for businessโ€.

Among them is the Suzuki Eeco Panel Van, designed to celebrate the South African spirit of hustle and hard work. With a focus on safety, efficiency, and comfort, the Eeco is equipped with a fuel-efficient 1.2-litre petrol engine and engineered for durability and low running costs. Its simple design and easy maintenance make it the ideal companion for businesses on the move.

Similarly, the Suzuki Super Carry has become a firm favourite for entrepreneurs and SMEs. Offering robust 1.2-litre petrol performance, a 750-kg payload, and the widest-in-class load box, the Super Carry is built for reliability and cost-effectiveness. Its practical layout ensures secure transportation, helping businesses stay productive wherever the road leads.

โ€œIt is both humbling and encouraging to be presented with this latest set of naamsa sales figures,โ€ says Henno Havenga, general manager of sales and marketing at Suzuki Auto South Africa.

โ€œSuzuki Auto South Africa has so far experienced a phenomenal year in terms of new vehicle sales โ€“ an achievement that can be attributed to our portfolio of affordable, value-for-money vehicles built on Japanese quality. In the same breath, itโ€™s also a testament to our fantastic dealer network โ€“ these figures wouldnโ€™t be achieved without it.โ€

Suzukiโ€™s growing popularity is reflected in its expanding customer base. โ€œWe have now welcomed over 300,000 customers since opening our first dealership in 2008,โ€ Havenga continues. โ€œIn fact, weโ€™ve handed over keys to 305,460 proud owners. We reached the 100,000 mark in February 2021 and the 200,000 mark in July 2023. To hit 300,000 just 22 months later is proof of the enthusiasm and trust customers have in our vehicles.โ€

Havenga adds: โ€œThis milestone gives us all the encouragement we need to continue delivering high-quality, competitively priced vehicles โ€“ be they for private use or for businesses โ€“ that donโ€™t cost an arm or a leg to fuel or maintain.โ€
