Sitrak on the rise Down Under

Sinotruk recently held a well-received launch of its new Sitrak trucks in New South Wales (NSW), Australia, gathering existing and new customers from the trucking, logistics, and construction sectors, as well as various partners and media guests.

As one of the leading heavy-duty truck markets in the Asia-Pacific region, Australia is an important emerging market for Sinotruk. Like South Africa, the country is known for its rugged conditions that can pose a variety of challenges for commercial vehicles operators.

Sinotruk is the premier heavy truck manufacturer in China and is proud of its status as the driver of the Chinese heavy-duty truck industry. Increasingly recognised as a world-class heavy truck manufacturer, it sold over 330,000 trucks and exported 130,000 units to overseas markets in over 110 countries (including South Africa) in 2023.

Sinotruk trades as Sitrak in Australia and New Zealand. The brand has been operational in the Australian market since 2017 and, in that time, 12 Sitrak models have passed the Australian Design Rules certification. The company has already delivered more than 1,000 heavy-duty trucks to its customers Down Under.

Held at the new 4S store (sales, service, spare parts, and surveys) of Sitrak’s NSW dealer, the launch was attended by notable dignitaries including Dr Betty Green, Liverpool City councillor; John Sidoti, former NSW minister for sport, multiculturalism, seniors and veterans; and Tommy Jiang, director of the Fortune Group.

General manager of Sinotruk Australia and New Zealand, Yunshuo Yin, introduced the new Sitrak and gave guests an overview of Sitrak’s Australian activities: there are now four primary dealers across the country, as well as seven 4S stores and five spare parts centres.

A total of 13 service centres have also been contracted, with another 17 under negotiation, and Yin was confident that by the end of June Sinotruk would have the full network of 30 service centres established.

In order to better meet the demand of the Australian market, said Yin, Sitrak new prime mover products have been designed specifically for Australia, bringing the world’s top suppliers together with high fuel economy, good driving experience, and excellent safety performance to win the trust and love of Australian heavy truck customers.

Local partners LK Auto and Synray Capital were also present. As the exclusive distributor of Sitrak in NSW, LK Auto offers integrated truck purchasing solutions and after-sales service support. According to LK Auto sales director Robert Churchill, this ensures that every customer enjoys efficient and convenient service.

Arthur Weng, partner at Synray Capital, highlighted the financial prospects within the Australian truck industry, noting that the company is dedicated to providing professional and stable financial services to Sitrak customers. These services include corporate credit, vehicle loans, and financial leasing. Synray Capital, he continued, also offers comprehensive financial support to dealers and truck buyers with favourable interest rates, fast approval processes, and complete follow-up services.

It was clear from the positive reaction to the launch of Sitrak’s new interior products for the Australian market that the company’s technological advancements and its commitment to the heavy truck industry in this crucial export market have not gone unnoticed.

The event marked yet another milestone in Sinotruk’s ongoing global expansion. Looking ahead, Yin noted that Sitrak Australia is dedicated to providing higher quality products and superior services to Australian truck users. The same is true for other export markets around the globe, and in the future South African customers are sure to benefit from similar levels of commitment from this rising star on the heavy truck scene.
