Iveco #Thank You Trucker Celebrating SA’s Amazing Truckers

Iveco #Thank You Trucker Celebrating SA’s Amazing Truckers

October is Transport Month, and Iveco SA would like to take this opportunity to celebrate all our unsung heroes in the trucking industry – they are the backbone of our nation, and we appreciate all that they do!

The #ThankYouTrucker initiative by Iveco SA and the Road Freight Association aims to recognise and celebrate the dedication and hard work of South Africa’s underestimated, but essential workers: our truckers. Through their constant hard work, dedication to the job and unwavering support of their country, they keep the wheels of the South African economy rolling.

During the recent civil unrest, SA truckers played a crucial role in ensuring food and other important goods were delivered to affected areas. Despite placing their lives on the line, they persevered, showing bravery and loyalty to their people. This level of commitment and effort from our drivers needs to be acknowledged because, without their tenacity, every facet of our economy and country would be adversely affected.

The number of #ThankYouTrucker entries received was overwhelming, which proved how much managers and owners believe in their drivers.

Congratulations to our current #ThankYouTrucker winners:

  1. Nimrod Maseko – Maphanga Logistics, Mpumalanga
  2. Matthew Moonsamy – Imperial Contract Logistics, KwaZulu-Natal
  3. Audrey Chiloane – Zosi Group (PTY) LTD, Gauteng

We want to thank you for your dedication and hard work because it keeps South Africa moving forward!

Here are just some of the other feel-good entries received for the #ThankYouTrucker competition:

  1. Philemon Magubane – West End Trucking

Philemon has been with West End Trucking since its inception 14 years ago. His love for trucking and the road is seen in his impeccable attendance record. He is polite, helpful and dedicated to his job, often stopping to assist other drivers who have broken down. He has proven to be an inspiration to other aspiring truckers and is highly respected.

  1. Sandeep Juggernauth – Breeze Shipping

Sandeep is a dedicated member of the Breeze Shipping family: he puts in the work whenever it’s needed, even after hours. He is always there to assist others if there is a breakdown or when extra work needs to be done. During the recent  truck driver-related violence, Sandeep set aside his fears and travelled to an area near the port to collect one of Breeze Shipping trucks that was being held hostage. Not only is he brave, but he is also dedicated, honest, and reliable.

  1. Gugu Aaron Zondi – Unitrans Supply Chain Solutions

Aaron has been a part of the Unitrans family for about 10 years. He is a responsible, experienced driver who takes pride in his work and is courteous and reliable. He also meets and even exceeds his daily operational targets and deadlines. Aaron prioritises safety above all else, taking the necessary steps to ensure a safe working environment for himself and his colleagues.
