Eicher extends its range

Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has today launched its Eicher Pro 6000 Series of heavy-duty trucks. This is the second range of models launched by the brand since its incorporation in 2016, and will be made up of the 6016 freight carrier with a 16-t gross vehicle mass (GVM) and 8-t payload, as well as the 6025 25-t construction models, which includes a 10 m3ย tipper.

Surender Singh, vice president and country head, VECV South Africa, says: โ€œThe Eicher Pro 6000 Series marks a milestone in the journey of Eicher Trucks in South Africa, with the company now entering the heavy-duty commercial vehicle industry.

โ€œThe Eicher Pro 6000 Series is the range of next-generation, heavy-duty trucks that offer class-leading fuel efficiency, superior uptime, as well as enhanced driver comfort, safety and efficiency through various cabin features and intelligent systems. The trucks have undergone rigorous endurance and performance testing for more than 100 000 km in South Africa.

โ€œTogether with strong support solutions, the new series promises to deliver maximum lifetime profitability to the customer and fast track their business growth,โ€ he commented.

The Pro 6000 Series offers numerous key unique selling points. It is powered by the VEDX5 and VEDX8 engines, designed in collaboration with the Volvo Group. These engines are equipped with latest Engine Management System (EMS 3.0) from the Volvo Group, which maximises performance in various operating conditions.

The cab is adapted from Japanese design and meets AIS 029 safety standards. It is equipped with the Intelligent Driver Information System that provides live information to the driver on the truck’s operational parameters, as well as advanced on-board diagnostics.

Compared to its competition, Eicher says it has fitted the Pro 6000 with up to R60ย 000 worth of features. These include an air-suspended driverโ€™s seat, air-conditioning, power windows and a power take off. All this ensures comfort, safety and enhanced efficiency.
