Ctrack gets solar

In addition to its brand-new SMB product, Ctrack Drive, the Ctrack stand, at this yearโ€™s Festival of Motoring, will also be home to a futuristic Sasol Solar Challenge (SSC) vehicle.

Taking place between September 22 and 30, the SSC is a biennial competition in which teams from across the world design and build solar-powered vehicles and then drive them across South Africa.

Seen as a live testing laboratory for new technologies, it will once again showcase highly innovative vehicles that are built with hand-woven solar panels, sophisticated weather-monitoring systems and 3D-printed parts.

As a proud SSC partner, Ctrack is providing telematics units to monitor the progress of both the local and international competitors during the 2018 event. Ctrack is excited to be involved with the competition, due to the global connection and the leading-edge use of several automotive technologies.

Ctrack research and development director, Jaco le Roux, elaborates: โ€œCtrack has a proud heritage of leading technology developments, software capabilities, as well as integration with third-party systems, to provide leading-edge services to fleet managers and trucking fleets in security, operational and efficiency planning. This track record is affirmed by the SSCโ€™s request for Ctrack to partner with these pioneering participants of the Sasol Solar Challenge.โ€

While the full gamut of Ctrack products will be on display on the companyโ€™s stand at the Festival of Motoring, additional focus will be on its brand-new SMB product, Ctrack Drive. Ctrack Drive is a feature-rich, affordable, software as a service (SaaS) solution that is ideal for small and medium enterprises and companies with fleets of 30 vehicles or less.

โ€œIntroduced earlier this year, the unique mobile solution is perfectly suited to companies whose vehicles are not a core part of the business and that do not employ dedicated fleet managers,โ€ says Hein Jordt, MD of Ctrack.

The 2018 Festival of Motoring is set to provide a plethora of interactive motoring entertainment that will include additional lifestyle, education and family friendly activities this year. It takes place from August 31 to September 2, at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Johannesburg.
