Bandag launches electronic tyre change slip module

Bandag launched two innovations at its 2023 conference: an electronic tyre change slip module and a human-machine interface panel.

Bandagโ€™s 2023 franchise conference was held at Sun City Resort, with more than 120 people attending the conference and gala awards evening. Following the disruption brought on by Covid-19, the macro and microeconomic factors impacting on South Africa, and the global impact of the war in Ukraine, Bandag themed its conference โ€œReimagineโ€.

During the conference, Bandag launched an electronic tyre change slip module known as ProTCS and its human-machine interface (HMI) panel.

Working seamlessly with Bandag retread tyre curing chambers, the HMI panel provides a host of benefits to Bandag factory managers, including remote access, increased efficiency, cost reductions, reduced downtime, increased safety, continuous improvement, and process consistency. With its numerous benefits, the HMI panel was received with overwhelming interest.

Bandag is constantly looking to improve its processes to ensure that its retreads remain the premium and benchmark product in the market. ProTCS is an electronic tyre change slip module that has been added to ProApp, further enhancing Bandagโ€™s digital offering to franchisees and fleet customers.

ProTCS integrates across the Bandag system, whether you are using it with ProWheel, ProStock, or want to use it as a standalone function. Even in standalone mode, ProTCS integrates with ProTurbo to make the data recording process simpler and faster. Furthermore, ProTCS offers a number of benefits, including eliminating the need for paper, reducing finger errors, and improving staff productivity and site efficiency. The module also keeps a digital record of every tyre movement, enhances data accessibility and sharing, and reduces your carbon footprint.

The gala evening was the highlight of the conference weekend. Long service and loyalty can be rare in todayโ€™s business environment, but Bandag has been privileged to work with a strong and loyal franchise network over the years, and a number of Long Service Awards were handed out this year, including:

The efforts and achievements of franchisees donโ€™t go unnoticed and are encouraged to ensure fleet operators get the best products and services that Bandag has on offer. The categories on which franchisees were measured were very focused on Bandagโ€™s POV. This yearโ€™s winners were:

  • Bandag Rubber Sales Excellence: Longlife Tyres
  • PSI Excellence: Thomas Tyres Lowveld
  • On-Site Service Excellence: BTS Ladysmith
  • BTS Excellence: BTS Barkly West

This year, Bandag also presented two Directorโ€™s Awards, with Protea Tyres Ermelo and Swazi Bandag recognised for their loyalty, as well as their remarkable achievements despite the many challenges each business has faced and overcome.

The incentive trip for this yearโ€™s QFG winners is a once in a lifetime trip to Croatia. Congratulations to the winners as they jet off on a golden adventure!
