Stay up to speed with health, safety and security!
Among the many aspects of business a transport and logistics operator can’t ignore are security, fire safety and occupational health and safety. The 26th edition of Securex – Africa’s leading security and fire trade expo – takes place at Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg from May 14 to 16. It promises to be a show not to be missed.
Among the highlights for Securex 2019 are:
- The new 4Sight Cybersecurity Pavilion: This will focus on the state of cybersecurity in South Africa, looking at the steps businesses can take to confront the growing threat landscape, as well as providing advice on how to better protect their valuable business data.
- Five free-to-attend seminar theatres: The popular free-to-attend Securex seminar theatre is in place for 2019, and visitors will have access to an additional four seminar areas.
- The Vapor Wake K9 Law Enforcement demo area: Here, Vapor Wake K9 SA will showcase the Vapor Wake method of training working dogs in the detection of explosives and other illicit substances. Vapor Wake is the first organisation outside the United States of America to offer this advanced type of canine technology.
- The annual InFIRes workshop: The Fire Protection Association of South Africa (FPASA) will again hold its one-day InFIRes workshop alongside Securex 2019.
- The Techman competition: The South African Intruder Detection Services Association (SAIDSA) will be running its Techman competition at Securex 2019, where SAIDSA-certified technicians will compete against one another in a practical challenge.
- The Securex New Product Display: Here, visitors can see the latest new security products showcased within the official Securex New Product Display area.
One of the major attractions to this year’s Securex is that fact that it will be co-located with A-OSH Expo 2019, Africa’s leading occupational safety and health trade exhibition, and, for the very first time, will also run alongside the Facilities Management Expo 2019, the focused trade expo for the facilities management industry.
