New CEO at the helm at Fiat Chrysler SA
Long-term strategy planned to benefit the company’s brands locally
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has announced the appointment of Pierre Martin Bos as CEO for South Africa. Outgoing head, Graham Eagle, will leave his position on November 15, his assignment having always been considered short term.
During the past 16 months, Eagle has solidified FCA’s activity in South Africa, focusing on improved customer service and streamlining business efficiencies. In a farewell message, the FCA board thanked Eagle for his services and wished him well in his future endeavours.
Bos joins the South African team from Italy, having been part of FCA since 1999. The Frenchman has achieved notable business success in a number of markets in Europe and elsewhere. He has been tasked with charting a long-term strategy for FCA’s brands locally.
Bos’s career began at Iveco, where he was in charge of marketing and sales for used heavy commercial vehicles. In 2001 he spent time in America with responsibility for logistics and field tests for fleets within the commercial vehicle sector.
He became acquainted with the Fiat brand in 2002, when he returned to France with responsibility for customer care and product improvement, implementing solutions to increase customer and dealer satisfaction.
In 2005, he joined FCA’s head office in Italy where, as marketing manager for light commercial vehicles in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, he was successful in helping to double sales within two years. Other appointments followed in Europe, the United Kingdom and Denmark, where he was country manager for Fiat Professional.
In 2015 he returned to France to lead the brand in his home market, and was then appointed brand manager for Fiat, Lancia and Abarth, other nameplates in FCA’s stable. He comes to South Africa from his role as sales manager for the company’s light commercial vehicles in Italy.
According to a media release issued by FCA, Bos is fluent in French, Italian and English, and also speaks German and Danish. He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
