Driventic: Driving a new era in commercial vehicle mobility
In a bold move signalling a new era for innovation in commercial vehicles, Voithโs Commercial Vehicles Division will rebrand as Driventic on 1 November 2025.
The transformation marks the companyโs evolution into an independent entity with greater agility, innovation, and customer focus. โThe new name combines innovation and agility,โ says Ettiene Holtzhausen, key account manager at Driventic. โIt represents our independent future as a leading mobility provider for both e-mobility and combustion engines.โ
The rebrand is more than a name change โ it is a declaration of intent. By stepping out from under the Voith umbrella, Driventic gains the autonomy to concentrate on its entire commercial vehicle (CV) product range. This shift promises accelerated product development, faster decision-making, and a dedicated team committed to meeting customer needs with precision and speed.
Continuity remains central to the strategy. Clients can be assured that the core products and warranties they have relied on for decades will remain unchanged. With 43 years of experience in the CV sector, Driventic will continue to manufacture and assemble its renowned product lines โ including retarders, DIWA transmissions, Voith Electric Drive Systems (VEDS), VIAB, and air compressors โ in the same trusted facilities.
โThere will be no compromise on the quality and reliability of the products and warranties that have helped our customers grow from strength to strength,โ Holtzhausen affirms. โWeโre building on the solid foundation Voith has laid and strengthening our relationships with customers.โ
In South Africa, the rebrand brings renewed strategic direction. Driventic will remain at its current premises โ home to its parts and service workshops since 2004 โ ensuring seamless continuity for local clients. The transition to full independence is already underway, with legal entities and IT systems being established to support autonomous operations.
This independence will enable Driventic to respond more swiftly to market changes and to make investment decisions with greater agility. It also allows the company to deepen its commitment to innovation and local partnerships, reinforcing its role in South Africaโs dynamic transport sector.
As Driventic establishes its own identity, it remains rooted in the legacy of Voith. The experienced teams that shaped the Commercial Vehicles Division will continue to drive success โ now with the freedom to pursue ambitious goals in both conventional and electric mobility.
โThe Commercial Vehicles Division is well positioned to establish itself as a leading e-mobility provider in the commercial vehicle sector,โ Holtzhausen explains. โWeโre also strengthening our role as a key supplier of components and systems for conventional drivetrain solutions.โ
To operators, OEMs, and stakeholders, the message is clear: the commitment to service, support, and partnership remains unwavering. Driventic is embracing the future with optimism, ready to deliver innovative solutions that help clients grow their businesses.
โAll our contact details remain the same,โ Holtzhausen adds. โOur entire team is available to assist, and weโre excited to continue building strong, reliable relationships with our customers.โ
As Driventic steps into this new chapter, it does so with confidence, clarity, and a steadfast dedication to driving the future of CV mobility.
