For 12 consecutive years, Isuzu has held the top spot as South Africa’s number one brand in the cab-over-chassis market, leading the combined medium commercial and heavy commercial vehicle (MCV and HCV) segments.

In 2023, the total combined MCV and HCV truck market stood at 9,793 units, which increased to 10,009 trucks in 2024, reflecting a 2.2% growth in volume. Isuzu’s market share also saw a notable rise from 28.5% in 2023 to 30.7% in 2024, marking a 2.2% increase in its dominance of the cab-over-chassis segment.
Furthermore, Isuzu Trucks maintained its top-selling cab-over-chassis position for 10 months of the year. October was a standout period, with 342 units sold, while the NPR 400 AMT and FTR 850 AMT emerged as best-selling models, reinforcing Isuzu’s strength in the four-tonne and eight-tonne markets.
